Senior Investigator – Financial Fraud & Forensic Accounting | Sydney CBD (Hybrid) | Up to $150k package

A respected regulatory body is seeking a Senior Investigator to lead complex financial fraud matters and help protect consumers and market integrity.

This is a genuine end-to-end investigations role—ideal for a CA/CPA/IPA-qualified accountant from forensic accounting, insolvency/restructuring, internal audit, or investigations—who wants meaningful work without billable hours or sales targets.

What you’ll do

  • Lead complex fraud and misconduct investigations from initial complaint through to court-ready outcomes
  • Identify and analyze financial evidence, transaction flows, and supporting documentation
  • Prepare high-quality forensic reports, evidentiary materials, and clear recommendations
  • Support litigation outcomes, including expert witness preparation/support where required
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to strengthen controls, compliance, and prevention measures

What you’ll bring

  • CA / CPA / IPA (or near completion) — essential
  • 5+ years’ experience in forensic accounting, insolvency/restructuring, internal audit, or regulatory investigations
  • Strong analytical capability and clear, confident written communication (you can explain complex financial issues simply)
  • Sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to manage sensitive matters to a high standard
  • Willingness to travel across Greater Sydney and occasionally regional NSW

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Real impact and public-interest work
  • 35-hour week, no billables, no BD
  • Hybrid working: 3 days CBD, 2 from home
  • Supportive, experienced investigations team
